Bangladesh reports first domestic transmission of A/H1N1 flu
The new patient, a 17-year-old Bangladeshi man, was believed to be infected by his friend, an 18-year-old Bangladeshi man, who returned from the United States on June 14 and was confirmed to be the country's first A/H1N1 flu patient on June 18.
Mahmudur Rahman, head of the country's Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research under the Health Ministry, told Xinhua on Thursday the patient is now at his home in Dhaka under appropriate treatment.Rahman said the condition of the new patient is not very serious.
Six more imported A/H1N1 flu cases were confirmed on Wednesday.All the six patients, ranging from two to 20 in age, are Bangladeshi nationals. They all returned from the United States recently on the same flight with the first flu patient, local newspaper The Daily Star reported on Thursday; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
