Balapan program to be implemented in first half-year – Kazakh Minister of Education

ASTANA. February 3. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Kazakh Minister of Education and Science Zhanseit Tuimebayev has urged the Department for Preschool and Secondary Education to develop the project of Balapan social program till March 1, 2010 and start its implementation in the first half of the year.
As earlier reported, the program is aimed at solving the problem with deficit of kindergartens in the country. According to the Minister, at present about 260 thousand children are waiting their queue to kindergartens.
According to him, the major number of children awaiting their queue was registered in Almaty region (20 thousand), South-Kazakhstan Oblast (33.5 thousand), Almaty and Astana cities (22.2 thousand and 31.5 thousand respectively).
