Azgirskiy nuclear test site remediation continues in Atyrau rgn

ATYRAU. October 7. KAZINFORM — Azgirskiy former nuclear test site is under the process of remediation, said the Senate's Deputy Sarsenbay Yensegenov.
According to the senator, on the territory of the former Azgirskiy landfill, where there were made 17 nuclear explosions, radioactive spots are still being identified and treated. Since 2005 more than a hundred spots have been destroyed. Radioactive metal structures and parts found in Azgirskiy zone have been disposed as well.
