Azerbaijan President heads to Kazakhstan

BAKU. October 19. KAZINFORM /Berik Khamidov/ President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has left Baku today to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan at the invitation of Kazakh Leader Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The trip programme foresees bilateral restricted and broadened-attendance negotiations, signing of the Declaration of Presidents of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, a series of bilateral intergovernmental agreements and programme of cooperation between the Foreign Ministries.

Ilham Aliyev will pay his visit on the eve of the 1st Summit of the Turkic Cooperation Council set for October 20-21 in Almaty with the participation of Presidents of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.

The leaders are expected to focus on urgent international and regional issues, key priorities of trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation development between the Turkic-speaking countries.

The Almaty Declaration will be signed following the results of the 1st Summit.
