Azerbaijan Airlines to pay over KZT 11 mln to families of plane crash victims
Azerbaijan Airlines air carrier will pay compensation to those injured and the families of passengers killed in the plane crash near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to the decision of the supervisory board of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC each of the passengers and those injured onboard the Embraer 190 aircraft operated en route Baku-Grozny that crashed on December 25, 2024, in the territory of Kazakhstan will receive 20,000 manat (over 5 million tenge) and the family of each diseased passenger will get 40,000 manat (over 11 million tenge) in compensation, the company said in a statement.
Besides, all the passengers will be paid insurance compensation in conformity with the laws of Azerbaijan and the best world practices.
As earlier reported, 38 died and 29 survived as Baku-Grozny flight J2-8243 operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, on December 25.
As written before, the Kazakh Transport Ministry revealed the details of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash near Aktau.
Earlier it was reported that the bodies of 10 deceased people out of 38 have been so far identified.
