Aviation Transport Prosecutor's Office of Astana adopts measures on environmental legislation violations

ASTANA. August 8. KAZINFORM In view of the detected oil pouring into the Yesil river from the pipeline of the airport the Aviation Transport Prosecutor's Office under examination were the activities of Astana "International Airport of Astana" JSC to comply with environmental legislation. This has been reported by the Office.

At the request of the prosecutor's office in the Astana airport there are activities carried out to find out the cause of the oil spill and clean-up of contamination of water and soil.

Also, the prosecutor's office made two statements to eliminate violations of the rule of law to the management of the airport, by which two officials of the company have been subjected to strict disciplinary liability. 1 legal and 6 officials have been also brought to administrative responsibility with the imposition of administrative fines totaling over 199 thousand tenge (about 1 200 US dollars).

In addition, the prosecutor's office instituted administrative proceedings for violation of environmental laws with respect to International Airport of Astana JSC imposing a fine of more than 13 million tenge (84 500 US dollars).
