Austrians intend to resell unfavorable Christmas gifts

Austrians admitted in the on-line poll that 39 percent of received gifts were unfavorable or even useless.
Among those who intend to resell unnecessary gifts this year, 59 percent said they would use the refund to buy the right stuff, while 41 percent said they would deposit the money.
Selling unneeded gifts through on-line transaction platforms such as Ebay has been favored by Austrians for years, the survey said.
This year's on-line reselling season was expected to last till mid-January, 2011, the study showed.
It was estimated that around 11 percent of Christmas gifts would be resold after this year's Christmas, compared with 7.6 percent of the previous year.
Austrians were expected to spend up to 2.5 billion euros (about 3.27 billion U.S. dollars) for Christmas gifts this year, according to a survey by Austrian Erste Bank before Christmas. Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com
