Atyrau train derailment: 21 taken to hospital

The train hauls 16 passenger and 3 freight carriages. 13 wagons were derailed. It carried 586 passengers and 35 service personnel. 210 passengers and 12 guides were in the derailed wagons. "44 passengers sought medical attention, 21 of them were hospitalized. No casualties were reported. Currently all passengers were evacuated from the scene of the accident," the press service of the internal affairs department said. The others were evacuated by buses to Makat. 69 rescue workers, 12 units of equipment, 2 helicopters, 2 emergency trains were sent to the scene of the accident. 45 medical workers, 6 ambulance teams and 4 psychologists are involved in the accident mitigation. Railway traffic was restored. 325 meters of the track were damaged. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the accident caused delay of 9 passenger and 34 goods trains. The investigations group works at the scene of the accident.
