Atyrau refinery recycled 285,000 tons of dubious origin oil

In 2012 the illegal circulation of oil dropped to 21 thousand tons and this year revealed only 1.5 tons of raw materials supplied with false documentation, the Deputy Head of Atyrau region Department for Economic crimes Kuanysh Izjanov said.

According to his words 97 percent of oil is delivered to the refinery by pipeline and only 3 per cent by rail. After examining the origins of oil delivered in tanks, the financial police has disclosed a criminal network.

"As a result of analytical work on identification the shadow oil turnover 27 criminal cases have been opened relating to 17 companies which trafficked oil worth more than KZT 1 billion", Izjanov informed.
