Attracting foreign investment is one of key objectives within industrialization - Foreign Affairs Ministry
In Astana there took place a meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov with representatives of the diplomatic corps and foreign business circles of the European Business Association of Kazakhstan («EUROBAK»).
The event was attended by more than 50 ambassadors and heads of major foreign companies and joint ventures.
In his speech Mr .Idrissov noted that foreign investment is one of the key objectives that the Head of State noted within the industrialization of Kazakhstan. Its successful solution should ensure transfer of new technologies, creation of jobs and appearance of large industrial companies.
"Despite the fact that the flows of foreign direct investment during the years of the global financial and economic crisis have fallen around the world, Kazakhstan has enjoyed their further growth. Today there are about 400 investment projects withparticipation of foreign investors in the amount of about $ 83 billion", said Mr.Idrissov .
As part of the discussion, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan also responded to questions from the participants regarding the visa regime and invited to take an active part in the international exhibition "EXPO -2017".
The meeting was a continuation of traditional sessions under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with foreign investors and the diplomatic corps. The Kazakh side reaffirmed the willingness to open dialogue on further improvement of the investment climate and to provide all possible assistance in addressing pressing issues of foreign business in our country.
