Astana was built for young generation- Kazakh Leader

ASTANA. July 6. KAZINFORM Today President Nursultan Nazarbayev has taken part in the ceremony of cutting the birthday cake in honor of the 15th anniversary of Astana, according to the press service of Akorda.

The solemn ceremony was attended by winners of school competitions and sporting events, children's homes, honors' students, gifted and talented children from all over the country.

In honor of the 15th anniversary of the capital children have prepared a concert with performances by winners of the national and international competitions, as well as young dance groups from Russia, China, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Addressing the young participants of the event, the President of Kazakhstan said that Astana was built for children.

"This city is almost the same age as you are. It will also grow and flourish. As you get older, you will continue to build our capital, and it will become even more beautiful," Nursultan Nazarbayev added.

The anniversary cake weighs more than 600 kg. Its edges are placed in the form of jewelry and iconic objects of the main attractions of Astana, and the figure of Baiterek monument height of 1.2 meters crowns the center of the cake.
