Astana unveils well-known Kazakh jeweler's exhibition

ASTANA. KAZINFORM Kazakh national arts and crafts exhibition of jeweler Berik Alibay well-known both in Kazakhstan and abroad opened at the Palace of Independence.
It features the national arts and crafts works ranging from the XIII century up to present. It is a private collection of Berik Alibay, it is the inheritance of his father and grandfather. It displays a rich variety of women's jewelry: rings, wristbands, necklaces, pendant ornaments, buttons, belts and rake-combs, and saukele that is a traditional headwear of a Kazakh bride. Besides, there are lots of weapons, broadly, acenaces, knives, sabers, arrow heads (stone, bronze and iron), ancient' rifles and guns. The exhibition will run until December this year. It traces back the history of the national jewelry development and succession of the family traditions of the notable painter and jeweler.
