Astana to host international theatrical festival

"I am confident that the festival will spark intense public interest as we've spent nearly a month selecting the best participants and theater pieces," Mr. Uzakov said at a press conference on Tuesday. In his words, this is the second time the festival is held on the eve of the Capital's Day in Astana. This year it is expected to bring together around 400 people. "Troupes from outside Kazakhstan are to participate in the festival, hence it has become international one," he added. Companies from Astana, Kokshetau, Kostanay, Zhezkazgan, Aktau, Pavlodar and Almaty cities will represent Kazakhstan at the event. The Maksim Gorky Republican Drama Theater from Dagestan and the Erzurum State Theater from Turkey are set to perform in Kazakhstan's capital as well.
