Astana to host international forum “Eurasian culture in a new world”

ASTANA. June 13. KAZINFORM Astana has been honoured as the cultural capital of the CIS member countries in 2012 within "Cultural Capitals of the Commonwealth" project of the CIS Interstate Fund of Humanitarian Cooperation. Astana has also been named the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2012.

The international forum "Eurasian culture in a new world" aimed at strengthening the cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the CIS states will be held on June 15 at the Palace of Peace and Accord in Astana.

The forum is arranged by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the CIS Interstate Fund of Humanitarian Cooperation.

Ministers of culture, public figures from the CIS member countries, administration of the Interstate Fund of Humanitarian Cooperation, heads and reps of international organizations, parliamentarians, embassies, and public bodies are expected to take part in the forum.

An exhibition "Culture of Kazakhstan: yesterday, today, tomorrow" dedicated to the development of culture and arts in Kazakhstan will take place during the forum.

The participants are believed to adopt a declaration to the leaders of the CIS member states.
