Astana to host Int'l forum of senior officials of national standards bodies

The forum is expected to be attended by the Secretary General of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Mr. Rob Steele. The main purpose of the event is to develop proposals on strategy for ISO 2016-2020, discussion of the issues of intellectual property protection, customer satisfaction, as well as topical questions of national market strategies of the participating countries. Kazakhstan will host the event, joining heads of national standards bodies of 19 countries in Central Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, for the first time. The forum will consider topical issues of standardization for the implementation and application of international technical standards and new technologies in all sectors of Kazakhstan's economy, which will contribute to the successful implementation of projects within the Industrialization Map and EXPO 2017.
