Astana to become capital of Turkic world of 2012 - President of Turkey A. Gül

ISTANBUL. September 16. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Astana will become the capital of the Turkic world of 2012. President of Turkey Abdullah Gül said it at a press conference upon the completion of the Summit of Turkic-speaking countries.
'The decision on establishing the Turkic Business Council was reached at the Summit. The activity of the Council will be aimed at expanding economic and trade relations. The establishment of the Fund in Baku is aimed at preserving Turkic culture as well as the TURKSOY declared Astana the capital of the Turkic world of 2012, opening within Turkic Academy the museum and library in Astana, expanding cooperation under auspices of the Interuniversity Union', A. Gül said.
According to him the decision on establishing a special fund for conducting research activities was made at the Summit. Besides, he said the sides agreed on declaring October 3 the day of cooperation of Turkic speaking countries.
