‘Astana - new city’ SEZ produced goods worth 85.9 bln tenge

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Over 11 months of 2014 industrial enterprises of "Astana - new city" special economic zone have produced products worth 85.9 billion tenge, according to the website of the city administration.
According to the website, a park number 1 of SEZ "Astana - new city" is implementing 50 industrial and innovative projects with an investment of 173.8 billion tenge, including with the participation of foreign investors such as GE locomotives assembly plants (USA), Talgo passenger cars (Spain), Alston electric locomotives (France), a producer of optoelectronic devices (Turkey), etc. The FEZ area of 7.6 thousand hectares includes two zones: an industrial zone (Industrial Park number 1, 2) and administrative and business area. SEZ "Astana - new city" started operation in 2002. From 2002 to September 2014 the volume of attracted investments amounted to more than 2 trillion tenge. The enterprises of the zone have created 2,116 new jobs.
