Astana Mayor: Expansion of airport terminal to be completed by March 2017

The roundtable has been attended by representatives of urban structures, Kazakhstan airlines, National Security Committee, Interior Department, Department of Consumer Protection, the press-service of the city administration informs. In his opening remarks Mayor recalled that one of the pillars of the new economic policy "Nurly Zhol" is the development of transport and logistics infrastructure. Special attention is paid to the development of airports. In February 2015 the city administration started work on the expansion of the airport terminal and reconstruction of the runway which will be completed in March 2017, said Mr.Dzhaksybekov. Speaking about the importance of the project, the Governor stressed that Astana airport is the main air gateway not only to the capital but to the country as a whole.
