Astana hosts regional sitting of UNESCO National Commissions of CA countries

The two-day sitting is aimed at boosting and strengthening potential of the National Commissions for UNESCO of the Central Asian countries and strengthening regional and subregional cooperation in all spheres of UNESCO activity.

Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Kazykhanov addressed the opening ceremony. In particular, the Minister noted that "urgent character and importance of today's event has great significance for our country. it is important to conduct joint work on maintenance and popularization of the cultural and natural heritage, traditions and arts of the fraternal peoples of Central Asia. Such the meetings are the best platform for promotion of interaction and joining together efforts of our countries within the framework of UNESCO."
