Astana has evolved into effective platform of dialogue of world religious leaders - Senate Speaker

ASTANA. February 17. KAZINFORM Kazakh Senate Speaker, head of Secretariat of the Congress of World and Traditional Religions' Leaders Kairat Mami received the participants of the meeting of the Secretariat's Working Group, which was held in Astana on February 16-17.

K.Mami thanked the Working Group members for their active participation in promoting interreligious dialogue and noted that "the past Congresses of religious leaders, organized on the initiative of the Head of State, have demonstrated the relevance and timeliness of this idea."

"Astana has evolved into an effective platform of dialogue of world religious leaders," the Speaker said. Mami stressed the importance of the harmonization of the draft final document, which is expected to be adopted by the participants of the forthcoming IV Congress of World and Traditional Religions' Leaders.

As the Speaker said, "the main theme of the IV Congress of religious leaders, which will be held May 30-31 in Astana will be "Peace and harmony as the choice of mankind."
