Astana celebrates an anniversary of getting the status of EXPO host city

This project is one of the key ideas in the country’s history. Over this time great work has been done. The best logo of the exhibition “Energy of Future” was chosen and the universal sketch idea was selected. 50 foreign architects competed for this opportunity. So, Chicago Company Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture became the contest winner. Now the EXPO-2017 pavilion will be transformed to a research park and it will become the center of research developments. 100 countries from the whole world will take part in this exhibition. It’s expected that about 5 million people will visit Astana over 3 months.

Recall that recently the Kazakh delegation took part in the work of the 154th session of the General Assembly of the Bureau of International Expositions. In Paris Kazakhstan presented a report on the work done on preparation to EXPO-2017 conduct in Astana. Besides, the fate of EXPO-2020 exhibition was determined there. Following the results of the third round, 116 countries gave their votes for the candidate of Dubai city.
