Astana can take decent place on industrialization map of country: Astana Mayor

ASTANA. May 27. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ "Astana can take a decent place on the innovative map of the country", Astana Mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov said at the first Astana Innovative Forum held under the initiative of the President.

According to the Mayor, the main wealth of the city is intellectual potential. "In this context Astana has to become a platform for breakthrough projects that don't destroy the industrialization of the economy as a whole", he said.

"Eight new innovative productions were launched during last year. 1.5 thousand jobs were created there. Six more innovative projects will be accomplished this year. Besides, there are 41 projects to the amount of KZT 170 bln in the innovative park", the Head of the city said.

The main purpose of the Forum is promotion of innovative activity and establishment of dialogue platforms for business. An exhibition of innovative projects and presentation of scientific-technical pilot projects will be held within the Forum.
