Astana, Almaty, Aktobe, Aktau, Shymkent to become centers of economic growth

In accordance with the instructions set by Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev in his annual address, the regional policy should be a key focus in the work of the ministry. The task is to ensure the effective development of the regions on the basis of enhancing their economic potential. For this purpose, until the end of the first half of 2012, in addition to the program "Regional Development" will be adopted the program of agglomeration and company towns," Sagintayev said.

The main emphasis in the program will be placed on making Astana, Almaty, Aktobe, Aktau, and Shymkent centers of economic growth.

"In terms of development of company towns the program will seek to diversify the economies of these cities through the active development of small and medium enterprises and increasing labor mobility," the Minister noted.
