Astana, Akmola region likely to launch high-precision satellite positioning system in 2011 - T. Mussabayev
"This year we plan to deploy first 10 differentiated stations under a pilot project in Akmola oblast and in Astana city with their further expansion to the entire territory of the republic", T. Mussabayev said.
"We are talking about the navigation system similar to European one. Due to it we can receive information how to get somewhere after we insert the details of the necessary place", he added.
As President of Kazakhstan Garysh Sapary NC JSC Gabdullatif Murzakulov clarified, the project has been implementing since December 2010 by EATS German company which had won a tender. The first ten stations are planned to be launched by mid 2011. Akmola and Almaty regions are expected to realize a pilot project too. The system is planned to be fully put into operation by the end of 2012. Pay-off period is 8 years.
