Astana Akim discussed promotion of Kazakh capital 's candidacy for hosting EXPO-2017 in Paris

I. Tasmagambetov assured  that taking into account the experience of building a grand new capital of the republic, Kazakhstan has all opportunities to win and implement a nationwide project EXPO-2017. V.Loscertales paid special attention to the international policy and initiatives of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan's increased prestige on the international scene, capacity and experience of Astana in the major international events' organization. BIE Secretary General was informed of the Astana development master plan until 2030, taking into account holding of  EXPO-2017.

A separate topic of conversation was devoted to preparing for the arrival of BIE expert committee to Kazakhstan in March this year  for acquaintance with the progress of preparations, in accordance with the Application file ASTANA-2017, represented to the organization late January  this year. V.Loscertales noted the intention  and efforts to obtain the right to host EXPO-2017 demonstrated  by the leadership and people of Kazakhstan is the main advantage of  Kazakhstan. The capital city is a symbol of development of the entire state, which gives a strong signal to governments of BIE member states.
