Asian Regional Assembly of International Union of Railways to convene in Astana in 2013

ASTANA. November 4. KAZINFORM The Asian Regional Assembly of the International Union of Railways will convene next year in Astana for its regular sitting.

This decision was taken at the XIV meeting of the Asian Regional Assembly of the International Union of Railways held November 1-2 in Moscow. Kazakhstan Temir Zholy attended the meeting to put forward its vision of the Asian transport markets' development.

It brought together more than 40 reps of railway companies - members of the Asian Regional Assembly of the International Union of Railways from 9 countries (Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Armenia, India, Republic of Korea, Japan, and Taiwan).

Those gathered shared views, debated nomination of reps of the executive committee of the International Union of Railways, membership in the Asian Regional Assembly of the International Union of Railways, results of the organization's activity for 2012, results of the seminars held and details of the workshops ahead on railway innovations.

Besides, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy reps held talks with rail operators of India, South Korea, Japan who confirmed their interest in the New Silk Way project and further cooperation.
