Asian Games schedule February 8: Team Kazakhstan events
Kazakhstani athletes are to vie in five sports on February 8 at the 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
On February 8, Kazakhstan’s men’s ice hockey team are to face Japan in their fourth match in the Preliminary Round Group A, set to begin at 9:00am Astana time. With 9 points, Kazakhstan tops Group A after defeating Thailand, China and Chinese Taipei.
Kazakhstani athletes will also compete in the Men’s and Women’s Short Track Speed Skating 1,500m, 500m, 1,000m, and Mixed 2,000m Relay Finals.
Alexandra Skorokhodova, Alexandra Troitskaya, Mariya Shkabarova and Xeniya Berezhnaya of Kazakhstan are to vie in the Women's Slalom Run 1 Alpine Skiing event.
The Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Skiing Sprint Classic Qualification events and Finals will feature seven Kazakhstani athletes.
Kazakhstan will also be represented in the Men’s and Women’s Speed Skating 100m and 1,500m races.
Earlier it was reported that the cauldron had been ignited at the opening ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games on Friday night.
