Asian Winter Games 2025: Kazakhstan wins 1 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals on February 9
Kazakhstan bagged one gold, four silver and two bronze medals at the ongoing Asian Winter Games 2025 in Harbin as of February 9, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the Kazakh Tourism and Sports Ministry.

Kazakhstan’s men’s team won the country’s first 5000 m short track speed skating gold. The team includes Denis Nikisha, Adil Galiakhmetov, Mersaid Dzhaksybayev, Aibek Nassen, Abzal Azhgaliyev and Gleb Ivchenko.

Notably, Kazakhstani women’s team secured silver in the 3000m Short Track Relay at the Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025 in China. The team consists of Yana Khan, Olga Tikhonova, Malika Yermek, Zeynep Kumarkhan, Alina Azhgaliyeva and Madina Zhanbussinova.

In addition, Kazakhstan’s women’s speed skating team grabbed bronze in the Women’s Sprint at the Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025, which are underway in China.Team Kazakhstan includes Kristina Silaeva, Daria Vazhenina, and Nadezhda Morozova.

Kazakh freestyle skier Ayana Zholdas pocketed a bronze medal in the Freestyle Skiing event at the 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, securing 76.54 points, while Ardana Makhanova failed to progress to the finals.
