Asian Games-2011 winners warmly welcomed at home: East Kazakhstan

UST-KAMENOGORSK. February 8. KAZINFORM /Lyudmila Malko/ Asian Games 2011 winners from East Kazakhstan region were warmly welcomed at the airport of Ust-Kamenogorsk on their return yesterday.

47 sportsmen of East Kazakhstan region represented the national team of Kazakhstan at the Games. 15 of them won 'gold', 11 silver and 7 bronze medals. Alexey Poltoranin won 4 gold medals on his own glorifying the East Kazakhstan region. These athletes from East Kazakhstan region were ones of many to have won medals for their country at the 7th Asian Games - Alexey Poltoranin, Oksana Yatskaya, Yelena Kolomina, Dmitry Reyherd, Dmitry Barmashov, Yuliya Galysheva, Olga Poltoranina, Inna Mozhevitina, Yan Savitsky, Yevgeniya Kuzmina, Alexander Babenko, Alexey Nemtsev, Vitaly Lilichenko, Igor Zakurdayev and Kseniya Stroilova.

East Kazakhstan Governor Berdybek Saparbayev awarded sportsmen with prize money, gold medalists received KZT 500 thousand, silver medalist received KZT 300 thousand and bronze medalists received KZT 200 thousand. Besides, each athlete was awarded with a material prize - TV set. A. Poltoranin, Y. Kolomina, Y. Galysheva and O. Yatskaya were presented with new cars for multiple wins at Asian Games by the Governor of the region.

A special concert in honor of sportsmen on the Republican Square was held afterwards. Roza Rymbayeva and Yerbolat Kudaibergenov along with other popular singers took part in the concert.
