Asiad opens with a grandiose show

ASTANA. January 30. KAZINFORM. /Damir Baimanov/ An opening ceremony of the VII Asian Games in Astana, as the organizers promised, has turned into a grandiose show.
The theatrical performance made the spectators roll back to the ancient Saks Empire. Above 100 people participate in Saks warriors and warrioress' dance ensemble. They are dancing around a huge sand-glass symbolizing the turbulent time. Shamans in a ritual dance call to the Time. So the Asian Games have started.
Later a spectacular illumination show made the stadium a real starry sky for a while with winged horses crossing over.
