Asiad 2011: Kazakhstan women's hockey beat Japan 3-2

ALMATY. February 1. KAZINFORM /Yekaterina Ionova/ Hockey players of the national women's team of Kazakhstan won the third game in a row breaking ties with penalty shots against the Japanese team.

In contrast to the previous games the match versus Japan was not too easy for Kazakh hockey players. They had an advantage during the whole game but could not score in the first and the second periods while Japanese team scored twice. Yoko Kondo scored on the last minute of the first period and Kanae Aoki doubled the advantage on the fifth minute of the second period.

The first puck into the opponent's goal was scored by Kazakhstan's Larisa Sviridova, then Zarina Tukhtiyeva showed high individual quality of playing and shoot the target and the game had to continue in overtime. The additional five-minute overtime did not show the winner of the game. A score of the game was established after penalty shots. Kazakh players realized one out of three possible attempts (Tukhtiyeva).

Next match the Kazakhstan's team will play against the national team of China at the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace in Almaty.
