For the first time in the SCO history Kazakhstan initiated adoption of the SCO Action Plan for 2010-2011 comprising above 100 events of various level and format.

One of the key tasks of Kazakhstan's SCO chairmanship is to bolster the Organization's activity focused on even development of the three lines of cooperation: security, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian constituents.

The SCO Action Plan is purposed to address the following issues: contribution to peacekeeping and maintenance of security in Central Asian region; deepening of cooperation in combating terrorism, separatism and extremism, counternarcotics; development of mutual benefit cooperation in trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, expansion of SCO ties with international structures with activities meeting the interests of Kazakhstan.
