Arson version in Taldykorgan fire excluded - Internal Affairs Minister

ANA. September 14. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ The arson version in the fire in Taldykorgan is excluded. Kazakh Minister of Internal Affairs Serik Baimagambetov has announced it at a telephone conference in the Government.

"There are two basic versions of the fire happened in Taldykorgan on September 13: human factor or wiring, the arson version is excluded", the Minister said.

Kazakh Vice Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov, in his turn, informed the Government members of the accident circumstances. He said that the Drug Rehabilitation Hospital was built in 1951.

"There were 78 people in the building at the moment of the fire, 41 out of them were evacuated and rescued, 10 out of them are in hospital. 37 people died. They were poisoned by carbon monoxide. The Governmental Commission visited the hospital, some families; expressed condolences on the behalf of the Head of the State and Government to relatives of died ones. A criminal case is initiated", S.Akhmetov said.
