Another Kazakhstan cyclist accused of doping

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan cyclist Ilya Davydenok from "Astana" tested positive for steroids, sports.kz reports.

He was tested on August 27. The cyclist is has been temporarily exclude from participation in competitions, the official website of UCI informs. That day Davydenok won the mountain stage of the youth stage race "Tour de l'Avenir". Meanwhile, the International Cycling Union will appeal to the Licensing Commission to review the status of Kazakhstan's team "Astana" which takes on a global tour. "UCI will ask the licensing commission to fully analyze the work of the management and anti-doping policies in "Astana" team. This is due to a serious concern because of the three athletes of the team tested positive for doping", the statement of the organization reads. Note that this is the third doping case in Kazakhstan's team in the season. Previously Maksim and Valentin Iglinskiy tested positive for erythropoietin. It bears to remind that Astana Pro Team cyclist Valentin Iglinskiy, convicted of doping, has been disqualified for 4 years by the resolution of Anti-Doping Commission of the Kazakhstan Cycling Federation
