The event was attended by the members of the royal family, Jordan parliament members, Government representatives as well as officials of diplomatic corps, political, social and business circles, diasporas, local and regional media and members of the Kazakh-Jordanian Friendship Society.
According to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in his opening speech the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Jordan Bulat Sarsenbayev noted the high level of mutual understanding and harmony in many bilateral issues between the two countries as well as advances in various fields of cooperation. The Kazakh diplomat also stressed that achieving this level of partnership contributed to the personal relations of the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdullah II as well as the hard work of foreign ministries of the two states.
Sarsenbayev said that due to Kazakhstan's achievements in the international arena our country has chaired the OSCE, the SCO and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. "The Republic of Kazakhstan is a country that voluntarily renounced the fourth largest nuclear arsenal in the world and, from the day of independence, is an active member of the movement for non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Therefore, the United Nations has declared August 29 as the International Day against Nuclear Tests", said the Kazakh diplomat.
