Amir Omarkhanov wins his 6th ITF Juniors trophy
ITF J300 Beijing 2024 China Open tournament has ended in the capital of China, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation (KTF).
Kazakhstan’s No 1 in U18 age category, Amir Omarkhanov confidently defeated British Oliver Bonding (ranked 19th by ITF Juniors). Bonding took the first set in a tiebreak. Amir Omarkhanov dominated in the remaining two sets 6:0, 6:4. This became Omarkhanov’s six trophy in the ITF Juniors singles. Previously, he won the J300 in Thailand, South Korea, Egypt, Georgia, and in Karaganda (J60).
After his win in the 2024 China Open, he will rank among the Top 10 ITF players.
Earlier, Omarkhanov defeated South Korean player Donghyun Hwang ranking 133rd in the ITF Juniors 6:7 (4:7), 6:4, 6:3. In the quarterfinal, he overwhelmed Kuan-Shou Chen (ranked 79th) from Chinese Taipei with a score of 6:3, 6:2. In the semifinal, he beat Serbian player Ognjen Milic (ranked 56th).
