Amendments to Agr't with Czech Republic on Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments approved

ASTANA. May 30. KAZINFORM - Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament approved the draft law "On ratification of the Protocol between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic on the amendments and the supplements to the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic for encouragement and mutual protection of investments."
Erbolat Dosayev, the Minister of Economy and Budget Planning, noted that the amendments, introduced by the Protocol which was worked out in Astana on November 25, 2010, contained clarifying information and were associated with the entry of the Czech Republic into the European Union and the Republic of Kazakhstan into the Customs Union.
Agreement is supplemented by a new article. The article determines that no provision of this Agreement can be construed to prevent any Party from taking measures necessary for protection of its essential security interests.
