Ambassador presented '20 Years of Kazakhstan's Independence' medals to Russian statesmen
Among the awardees are member of the Federation Council of Federal Assembly of Russia Nikolai Ryzhkov, member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yevgeny Primakov, Chairman of CIS Executive Committee Sergei Lebedev, ITAR-TASS Director General Vitaly Ignatenko, MGIMO Rector A. Torkunov, ex Soviet Defense Minister Dmitry Yazov.
All awardees expressed their gratitude to the Kazakh President for high appreciation of their contribution to Kazakhstan-Russia relations development. Primakov wished success to the Kazakh people and expressed confidence in further strengthening of mutual relations. "Kazakhstan is one of the few republics of the former Soviet Union, which had lived 20 years of its independence without social disruptions. This is the result of progressive and productive reforms of the Kazakhstan leadership," Ryzhkov emphasized.
According to S. Lebedev, 20 years of independence is the date important not only for Kazakhstan, but also for all the CIS countries. Kazakhstan is the initiator of large integration projects aimed at strengthening cooperation within the Commonwealth.
