Ambassador of Qatar in Kazakhstan Abdullah Ahmed Al-Mutavaa: We have a great potential in all areas of cooperation

In turn, I would like to congratulate all Kazakhstanis on the Independence Day of Kazakhstan and wish you all the best! - Please, describe the state and prospects of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Qatar. - From the first days of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan the two countries have established diplomatic relations. In 2005, the former Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, known as the Emir Father of Qatar, visited Kazakhstan. It should be noted that it was the first historic visit of the monarch from the Persian Gulf to Kazakhstan. - What areas are the most important for bilateral cooperation? - Earlier this year, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim made an official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was his first visit to your country as the Emir. During his visit he discussed with His Excellency the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev the development and expansion of bilateral collaboration. Emir's visit gave a strong impetus to the Qatar-Kazakh relations. There has been signed a number of agreements and memos in the fields of economy, investment and culture. For example, under the signed investment agreement the investment fund of Qatar and Kazakhstan's welfare fund "Samruk-Kazyna" will implement a number of projects in 2015. Qatar is interested in investing in agriculture and manufacturing. I assure you, there are good prospects for cooperation. - Nursultan Nazarbayev has recently delivered the new address to the nation which launched the new economic policy "Nurly Zhol - The path to the future". Please share your opinion about this document. - I have very carefully read the Address of the President of Kazakhstan.
