According to him sports facilities built for the Asian Games have been positively appraised by the international experts. 'Kazakhstan hosts such a large-scale event as Asian Games for the first time in its history. Yesterday we witnessed a grand opening of the Games and today we already have first results. I attended the ski jump today and watched our sportsman performing, he won bronze medal and finished behind winner of the World Cup and Olympic Champion', the Mayor said.

'The President of Kazakhstan set a task to make Almaty a big tourist city of the region. Speaking of 'region' we mean not only the Central Asia. We need to extend the length of the slopes to 500 kilometers by 2015 to realize it. It will also create 30 thousand of job positions. These are 30 plants with 1000 workers. Moreover, tourism is an ecologically pure sector of economy. These Asian Games are very important for us in this sense', A. Yessimov added.
