Almaty to hold forum within frame of preparation for OSCE chairmanship

ALMATY. May 18. KAZINFORM. /Dauren Zhailin/ International conference on ?OSCE and processes of democratization in the light of regional security? will take place in the Kazakh Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of Kazakhstan on May 28 in Almaty.
The forum organized by the Institute, Kazakh National Al Farabi University and OSCE Center in Astana will be held within the framework of preparation for Kazakhstan?s chairmanship in the OSCE in 2010. The issues of cooperation of Central Asian states in the spheres of security and democratic development as well as human dimension will be considered.
Head of the OSCE Center in Astana Alexander Kelchevsky, Human Rights Commissioner of Kazakhstan Askar Shakirov, Director of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry?s Department for OSCE Yerkin Akhinzhanov and heads of leading public and independent scientific-research structures of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan will take part in the event.
The Kazakh side will be represented by well-known human rights activists, public figures, deputies of the Majilis, experts of state and independent scientific and analytical structures.
