Almaty marks 80th anniversary of prominent scientist-economist K. Okayev

ALMATY. September 11. KAZINFORM /Serik Koibagarov/ Today Almaty marked 80th anniversary of prominent scientist-economist, academician Kabi Okayev. A ceremonial event dedicated to the date was held at the T. Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University.
Representatives of leading universities and scientific organizations of Kazakhstan, guests from the CIS and non-CIS countries gathered for the event. The attendees pointed out K. Okayev's huge contribution to the country's economic science, his great role in education and development of the university.
According to Vice Rector of the university, professor of economic sciences Sholpan Abdilmanova, Kabi Okayev was a real teacher who had devoted all his life to education, economic science.
His works underlay many legislative acts. Current recovery of the domestic production could be possible primarily due to K. Okayev's ideas, she said.
