Almaty Culture Days took place in Stuttgart

BERLIN. June 15. KAZINFORM /Yuliya Chernova/ - A delegation from Kazakhstan with Almaty akim Akhmetzhan Yessimov in the head visited Stuttgart June 14-15 as part of the Year of Kazakhstan in Germany.
At the meeting with Stuttgard Mayor Wolfgang Schuster a joint Statement of cooperation between Almaty and Stuttgart was signed which is supposed to promote mutual exchange of delegations, experience and information and expand cooperation.
The program of A. Yessimov?s visit envisaged participation in the international «Cities for Mobility» congress. The event called to coordination of Stuttgart, promotion of transnational cooperation with the city administrations in the sphere of transport, economy, and science for the purpose of development of sustainable, effective and future-oriented transport systems of the cities. The members of the congress are 400 entities from more than 40 countries of North and Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Akhmetzhan Yessimov delivered a keynote report and told the audience about Almaty city development perspectives and pointed out the main spheres of the interregional cooperation.
In Stuttgart he met with the German business community, in particular with the top management of Daimler AG and Robert Bosch GmbH, and discussed a wide range of issues, including opportunities of cooperation of German manufacturers with Kazakhstani partners.
Almaty Culture Days took place at the Liederhalle which included a gala-concert of Kazakh musicians and performers, a photo gallery and applied art exhibition.
The Kazakh delegation was greeted by Stuttgard burgomaster Claus-Peter Murawski who pointed out that it was the first big event in the history of Stuttgart city organized by Almaty.
