Almaty conf to debate current problems of Kazakh Diaspora abroad
Its aim is to make public the results of the latest complex ethnographic, ethno-cultural and other research activities, first of all, those carried out by the country's scientists in Central Asia (Mongolia, China, Altai, etc). Its goal is to debate current issues of the Kazakh Diaspora, its ethno-cultural and socioeconomic development issues in the light of broadening ties with the historic motherland and need to preserve its ethno-cultural importance. The Kazakh Diaspora of Central Asia is the largest community of the Kazakhs living abroad that to a great extent preserved elements of the traditional ethnic culture. It numbers more than 3 mln people so far. But the same time they observe significant ethno-cultural changes, experience drastic socioeconomic adaptation and integration into the modern world, the World Association of Kazakhs said. A plenary session, II symposium of the Kazakhs of Mongolia, presentations of two monographs, an exhibition and a screening of a documentary, a seminar on the Kazakh President's State-of-the-Nation Address will be held as part of the conference.
