Almaty Central Stadium almost ready for Winter Asian Games

ALMATY. August 19. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sihimbaev/ Almaty Mayor Akhmatzhan Yesimov familiarized with the progress of reconstruction of the Central Stadium and pace of construction of the international complex of ski jumping within his working trip on Wednesday.

Currently, demolition works on expanding the fields and running tracks are finished at the largest stadium in the city. The foundation for a new field, system of drainage, heating and watering is prepared. Water pipes and rain sewer have already been replaced. Besides, works on strengthening of the western grandstand have been launched. All works at the stadium are run in accordance with schedule and meet all international standards. On September 18 the first test matches are planned to be held on the new field of the stadium.

As it was reported earlier a ski complex will be used while Winter Asian Games 2011. The construction of it is almost finished. Test competitions are scheduled for September 25 at the complex. Besides, cultural events are to be held in the territory of the complex up to the end of the year.
