Almaty became first Kazakhstan's city illuminated by Flame of VII Asian Winter Games

ALMATY. January 12. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilinskaya/ The ceremony of lighting the flame of the upcoming Asian Games in Kuwait was held at a very high level. The Minister of Tourism and Sport of Kazakhstan Temirkhan Dosmukhambetov said it at the international airport of Almaty on arrival of the Flame of the 7th Asian Games.
'It is for the first time the torch relay is held in Kazakhstan. It is called on to promote sport and healthy life style in the country', the Minister noted.
Mayor of the city Akhmetzhan Yesimov said that the event was an honor as the city had been selected to host the Games four years ago. He emphasized that Almaty became the first Kazakhstan's city illuminated the Flame of the 7th Asian Games.
The Mayor and Minister are of the same opinion that the Games will be very competitive. They also informed that the Flame would go to Taraz today and then to all cities of the country. The relay will end in the capital of Kazakhstan - Astana on January 30 at the day of the opening of the 7th Asian Games.
