All rescue teams of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan ready for rescue operations 24/7
"Additional teams and equipment have been just moved to Karaganda region. Besides, special attention is paid to the situation in Akmola region. All rescue teams are ready to hold rescue operations 24/7," V. Bozhko said.
According to him, 4515 rescuers, firemen and servicemen, 1 221 units of special equipment, 74 floating devices and other types of equipment are involved presently in the areas suffering from flooding. The level of water in the rivers and reservoirs is being constantly monitored.
V. Bozhko also informed that 11 172 people were evacuated from several localities before flooding in order to prevent casualties. In total, 50 localities in 17 districts of Akmola, Karaganda, Kostanay, East Kazakhstan, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan regions have been flooded.
