All Kazakhstani airports will meet ICAO standards by 2020

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - In the next five years, all the airports of Kazakhstan will meet the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), this has been announced at today's roundtable by director of the department for transit and transport logistics development under the Ministry of Investment and Development Dauren Sabitov.

"Particular attention is paid to the development of infrastructure of civil aviation airports. One of the main tasks is to eliminate the comments made by ICAO and improve the safety of civilian flights. It is expected that before 2020 all 18 airports of our country will meet the standards of ICAO," he said. In his remarks on the development of transport infrastructure in Kazakhstan, he also highlighted the works being made on expanding the international seaport Aktau. It is known that there will be constructed three dry cargo terminals. As a result, the port's capacity will be increased by 2.5 million tons.
