All glaciers in Almaty region to melt down by 2050

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - All glaciers in Almaty region will melt down by 2050 as a result of the global warming. This was the forecast of the biggest consultative company "McKenzie", Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Vladimir Bozhko informed at the CCS press conference.

"I'd like share with you some unpleasant information. "McKenzie" company forecasts that all the glaciers in Almaty region will melt down by 2050. This is going to be the result of the global warming," V. Bozhko informed.

He noted that the problem was not local but global and thus it has to be addressed globally. "The global warming is a serious global problem. I was at the world congress for climate changes held under the auspices of the UN in Japan. Many countries of Oceania express their real concerns about their existence when the snow of Antarctica melts down. They will be all under water. We all have take think about it and take measures," V. Bozhko added.
