Alexander Shevchenko falls in Bratislava Challenger Final

Kazakhstani tennis player Alexander Shevchenko lost in the final of the Challenger tournament in Slovakia, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.
Seeded first in the tournament, Shevchenko (97th in the world) faced Taro Daniel of Japan (ranked 293rd).
The match lasted three sets and ended with Shevchenko losing 6-3, 0-6, 6-7 (2-7). The players spent 2 hours and 36 minutes on court. During that time, Alexander served eight aces, committed five double faults, and converted four of 12 break point opportunities.
The overall result will allow the Kazakhstani athlete to earn additional ranking points.
Earlier, Shevchenko won his semifinal match vs. Ukraine's Vitaliy Sachko.
